PERSONAL PROFILE Born in Ningbo, Zhejiang in September 1966
Mingjie Zhang is mainly engaged in the research of structural biolagy, biochemistry and molecular biology.

Structural biclogist, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Founding Academician of Hong Kang Academy of Sciences, TiledProfessor of Kerry Science, Department of Life Sciences, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Dean of the School of LifeSciences, University of Science and Technology of China, and Dean of the Schcol of Life Sciences, South University of Science andTechnology.

STUDY WORK HISTORY

• In 1988, graduated from Fudan University;

• In 1993, he received his Ph.D. from the University of Calgary, Canada;

• In 1995, he joined the Department of Biochemistry, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. and served as assistant profes-sor, associate professor and professor successively;

• In 2003, he won the Hong Kong Croucher Foundation Outstanding Scholar Award;

• Elected as Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011;

• In 2015, he was elected as a founding member of the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences;

• In 2020, he  joined SUSTech as the funding dean of School of Life Sciences.
